Bucovina Institute
Association of the Institute for Social Partnership Bucovina (Romania)
Bucovina Institute is an non-profit NGO founded in 2011, which aims to support the sustainable development of communities in the North East of Romania, South–West of Ukraine and the entire Republic of Moldova, through learning partnerships projects and organizing continuing training programs for adults.
Main objectives:
- Creating programs to facilitate intercultural training, cross-border cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of social economy and employability of the vulnerable people on the labour market;
- Supporting young people and adults from rural areas, migrants, minorities, and people with disabilities to ensure the access to all forms of learning, access to the labour market, and organizing business start-up programs;
- Promoting regional and community development by conducting qualification, re-qualification, training, specialization, apprenticeship courses, and setting up skills assessment and certification programs with non-discriminatory access for all social categories;
Social Services:
- Centre for Social Inclusion – Community assistance services – WISE (Work Integration Social Enterprises) services licensed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity, according to the new standards;
- Information and occupational therapy services within the Together Club Day Centre;
- Attestation as a social economy enterprise, certified by the Suceava County Agency for Employment.
The institute is licensed for support services for employment and authorized by the Romanian Ministry of Labour. It also has wide experience in non-formal education, provider for TOT and specific training for teachers, social workers, community facilitators, medical assistants, and social entrepreneurs.
It manages support services for employment within the WISE department, counseling and microgrants operator for start-up on social economy within the RIES department.
After the war started, Bucovina Institute created a Social Emergency Center in order to support the refugees coming from Ukraine, aiming to meet their main needs and to offer them a life as normal as possible in the crisis situation they are in.
