Reves
European network of cities and regions of the social economy AISBL (Belgium)
REVES is a social network for innovation in terms of both methods and procedures, based on co-construction and the shared capacities of its members and their territories. It carries out activities aimed at developing social economy models, for a sustainable, fair and participatory European society.
One of the core instruments used by REVES for the pursuit of this objective is the organization of peer learning and exchange activities among territorial partnerships. Moreover, it is the only European organisation based on a partnership between local and regional authorities and territorial social economy organisations. REVES members are local authorities or social economy organisations that are currently developing or are willing to develop policies to promote an economy based on solidarity and a more equitable, inclusive, participative and responsible society.
Since 1996, along with its members it has developed, shared and proposed partnership policies to promote the centrality of the regional and local level in European construction. Its members come from 13 EU Member States and it actively cooperates with the European Parliament, the Commission (REVES is part of the EC’s GECES and ESIF-SD expert groups
and participates in the structured dialogue with DG EMPL), the European Committee of the Regions and the European Economic and Social Committee.
Furthermore, REVES is a founding member of Social Economy Europe and is a partner for all EU civil society organisations that share and pursue a vision of a sustainable and equitable society.
REVES is also a partner of the EU skill alliance for proximity and the social economy sector.
In recent years, REVES has participated in or co-led operations in the framework of the COSME programme and in the framework of the Global Action for Social Economy by OECD, and has been constantly active in ERASMUS + financed initiatives since 2014.
