Consorzio Vives
Consorzio di Cooperative Sociali – Società Cooperativa Sociale Impresa Sociale – ONLUS (Italy)
VIVES is a Consortium of 3 social cooperatives operating in the four former Provinces (at least one each) that compose the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region: Codess FVG, 2001 Agenzia Sociale and FAI, which are among the most important social economy organizations of the area.
For more than 30 years, the 3 cooperatives and their consortium have provided social, educational and health services for children, young people, the elderly, migrants, disabled and other vulnerable groups, acting either as social enterprises, contractors or civil society partners of more than 50 local authorities of the Region.
In 2013, they established the Consortium aiming at strengthening their institutional and operational capacity, to challenge the deep changes in contemporary welfare, by adopting a competitive, yet innovative and socially responsible approach.
Democratic governance, inclusion and investment of operating margins for community building are the main pillars of the social economy pursued by VIVES and its affiliated cooperatives.
The Board of Directors is composed of 3 members, a President and two Vice-presidents, one on behalf of each cooperative. The staff is made of the employees (seconded or not) of its affiliated entities; therefore, VIVES employs de facto more than 1.700 workers.
More than 60% of them are women and a relevant share is made of non-Italian citizens (35% in FAI and 10% each in the remaining two).
Finally, VIVES is an active member of the European network REVES since 2015 and so is 2001 Agenzia Sociale in CEFEC network (both networks are Partners in the present Action).
